Wario Land 6 was a platform game that is the sixth game in the Wario Land series and the second game in the Wario Land: Smooth Moves series. This game was a major departure from previous "Wario Land" games, offering a more action-oriented perspective, faster game speed, and alternate gameplay mechanics. The protagonist of the game was Wario, while other characters from previous games make cameo appearances. Unlike the previous games, "Wario Land 6" did not have a trailer or E3 presentation video. "Wario Land 6" received a positive response from critics, with the characters and level design receiving the most praise. "Wario Land 6" is a side-scrolling platform game. The player controls Wario while avoiding enemies and collecting powerups. The player can pick up enemies, which can be thrown at enemies to harm them and unlock new areas of the game. Powerups can be collected and used for an increased chance of victory in battle. "Wario Land 6" also allows the player to play as Wario's dog "Bruce", an original character who makes his debut in this game. "Wario Land 6" features five worlds each containing 15 levels, and an option to save the game at any time during a run. The game plays almost identically to the original game in the series, "Wario Land 4". The levels are filled with enemies and obstacles, most of which can be avoided by jumping, shooting, jumping while climbing on objects, or climbing on an enemy's head. Controls are also set to allow players to skip directly to the next level, if the player has already completed it in the past. Something which the original "Wario Land" was never able to allow. The game is split into two basic sections.
